This database contains data gathered in more than 14,000 surveys conducted by more than 700 polling organizations in the United States and more than 80 other countries. Each record reports a question asked and the responses given. Also included in each record are the name of the organization that conducted the poll, the date the information was released, the sample size, and the groups or areas included in the interview.
Points of View Reference Center contains 400 topics, each with an overview (objective background / description), point (argument) and counterpoint (opposing argument). Each topic features a Guide to Critical Analysis which helps the reader evaluate the controversy and enhances students’ ability to read critically, develop their own perspective on the issues, and write or debate an effective argument on the topic
Opposing Viewpoints Resource Center provides intelligent, thoughtfully worded discussion centering on the key issues of our time, such as genetic engineering, environmental policy, prejudice, abortion, health care reform, and media violence.
