Whose Voices Are Heard? Exploring the voices of the Black Lives Matter movement: Books

The online companion to A Black History Month display created in partnership with the students of Dr. Dana Schowalter’s COM 442: Communication and Social Change class

Book display in Hamersly Library

The students in Comm and Social Change were given an assignment that asked them to find various sources about Black Lives Matter from the perspectives of those in the movement itself, or from voices that are less likely to be heard in the media. The results of this assignment can be seen on display in the lobby of Hamersly Library and on this webpage. On this page you will find the books the students chose along with their annotations. The other pages in this guide contain the other sources chosen by the students: academic articles, popular articles and websites, and social media.
