Try targeted, specific Google searches that not only search for your discourse community, but also for the specific type of language/writing/rhetoric you're interested in. Some examples:

Retrieve particular types of sites. Add this to your search:

site:.org       Finds non-profit websites

site:.gov      Finds government websites

site:.edu      Finds college & university websites

To evaluate the sources you find, consider...

  • How the source helps you better understand your topic
  • How the source might help you make a point or explain something to your reader
  • The authority of the source for your given topic
