Starting Fall 2025, the Creative Arts Division partners with the Library to manage music instrument lending. BUT! We need a few days to get them ready to loan.
The instrument will be listed on your My Library account. Loans are for the full current term. As you register for next-term classes, the Library will push the instrument due date forward. If you do not register for next-term classes, the instrument loan will come due. If it's not returned promptly, we'll send a replacement charge to your WOU financial account.
The integral parts and durable accessories (bows, mouthpieces, cleaning tools, guitar straps, lyres, etc.) that are in the instrument kit at checkout need to remain with the kit. Non-return of any instrument part results in a replacement fee.
If you need a basic consumable supply, such as clarinet pads, reeds, lubricant, or strings, talk with your music instructor. The library does not have instrument supplies. Music instructors can also supply you with mutes as needed.
Normal wear and tear is expected with general instrument use. Damages, however, may result in a replacement fee.
If an instrument needs repair or servicing, you may request a replacement and return the complete problem instrument kit to the library. Tell the library staff what the issue is with the instrument.
