Avoids the first person, injecting opinion, overstating claims, and overwriting.

Uses the active voice.

Avoids plagiarism.

Uses clarity: direct, straightforward, jargon-free, uncluttered language.

Avoids language reflecting bias and stereotypes.

The Writing Center also offers specialized assistance for multimodal compositions or new media projects like digital narratives, blogs, websites, slideware presentations, and even YouTube videos.
