WiFi Hotspots
As of Fall 2022, the hotspot lending program is significantly curtailed. WOU allocated emergency federal funding to the program starting in 2020, and that funding is no longer available.
WOU’s Library now lends a small number of T-Mobile hotspots to cover students' transitional periods while they set up their own internet service. As with all other materials available from the library, the library covers the cost of these hotspots, with no expense passed on to the borrower. Their loan is for 2 weeks with a renewal available.
Maria Barrera, WOU's Basic Needs Coordinator, reviews borrowing requests for hotspots before the library lends them. She works with students to assess their overall needs and to provide them with resources to set up internet service.
Residents of WOU Housing are ineligible to borrow hotspots.
Request a hotspot with the form below. After you submit the form, WOU Housing status is checked and the Basic Needs Coordinator is notified. If you haven't already consulted with her, Maria will reach out to you, or you may initiate an appointment yourself at barreram@mail.wou.edu. When your loan is approved, you’ll get an email from libweb@wou.edu with instructions.
